What Are the Symptoms of Essential Tremor?

The most basic symptom of essential tremor and its difference from the diagnosis of Parkinson's is that tremors are seen during physical activity. Essential tremor symptoms include: Difficulty in writing, problems in grasping and controlling objects, involuntary tremors due to movement in the limbs, increased tremors and balance problems in stressful periods can be shown.

How Is Essential Tremor Diagnosed?

There is no specific blood test or examination to diagnose essential tremor. For this reason, while making the diagnosis, methods such as the patient's history, symptoms, and physical examination, especially radiological imaging methods such as MRI, are used.

Essential Tremor Treatment with DBS

Deep Brain Stimulation gives successful results inpatients with essential tremors who do not respond adequately to drug treatment from the beginning, or whose tremors increase over time while being treatedwith drugs, or cannot be controlled with medical treatment.
